Stayed 6/4-6/21. Yes, this is older and a "motel" - but it is GREAT! Very retro, with some neat furniture / lamps in the rooms. Also, clean, odor free (we had a non-smoking room), no bugs, and bodacious high pressure hot water! It had a fridge and a microwave in the room and a liquor store on-site. Mike and Donna are "super-hosts!" They are great folks who go the extra mile for guests. Salt Plains motel is a blast from the past - like family-owned motels used to be in the 60s.

We had a wonderful beginning to our experience. Overall, the space was tidy. The man was amiable. However, they must keep a more accurate record of who is staying where. On the morning of check-out, at precisely eight in the morning, a woman entered the building, apologized, and left. We were unable to sleep following that encounter. Since there are cameras, I called the front desk to ask if they knew who it was, and they told me it was the woman. said she didn't realize he had rented the space. Since our car was parked directly outside the door, it was obvious to me that someone was in that room.

If you are wanting to dig crystals at Great Salt State Park and you need a place to stay, I HIGHLY recommend Salt Plains Motel! It truly is a blast to the past, but the rooms are super clean and the owners are absolutely amazing. Their dog, Zoey, is such a lover and greeted us with lots of love. There’s a liquor store on site (literally a few steps from our room), and it’s only about 10 minutes away from the digging area. Please stop in and stay with these people, they’re the best.

Room smelled fresh and was immaculately cleaned. And this was a smoking room. So nice, you would never know it had been smoked in. Even the carpets were super clean. Older motel with a lot of charm. Loved the old school lamps. Well maintained, with very friendly and kind owners. They allowed our two dogs , we just had to make sure they stayed off the furniture. Salt plains just a few miles away. Coffee pot, fridge, and microwave in room. Bed was amazingly comfortable. Good shower with hot water and awesome preasure and drainage. Liquor store on site. Very quiet and relaxing stay. Just wanted to stress again the cleanliness or the rooms and the coolness of the owners. We loved this motel and hope to return soon.

We stayed here for several weeks while my husband was working a turnaround in Enid. We had a room reserved in Enid, but it was given away before we arrived for at least double the price. I am so thankful we found this precious, family owned, special little motel in the tiny town called Jet! The sweetest owners, Donna and Mike always made us feel so welcome. They went above and beyond to make sure we always had everything we needed. Our room was a non-smoking room. Absolutely no signs or smells of smoking in the room, unlike some places we’ve stayed (smell comes through air vents or walls). The motel is older, however it is the cleanest place! Clean towels every day and yes, the towels are clean! The sheets and blankets are very, very soft and clean! Great water pressure and hot water! It’s very quiet on the property and in town. We Always slept great and felt safe! I walked my dog several times through out the day around the motel and all around town in the evenings. Willie (my friendly doodle) also enjoyed visiting Mike and Donna! If you’re in this part of Oklahoma, I highly recommend staying at the Salt Plains Motel!

Great little place!! Its actually closer to the salt plains and cheaper to stay here vs the state park!! The owners were so nice they treated us very well!! Thanks for the excellent experience! The room took me back to my younger years with the decor and vibe it had but you would never of known because everything was very clean and the room had a surprisingly fresh smell to it as the decor would lead you to believe it would have a musky/old smell to it. Great place, if we ever go back to dig for Crystal's we will definitely stay here again. My son and his girlfriend came with us on Father's day, they stayed in a room as well. They were very happy about the smoking and non smoking accommodations as neither of them are smoker's they had the smoking rooms on one side of the building and non smoking on the other side. I was just having they had smoking rooms, lol. well they found the best set's of Crystal's in the hole they dug. it was amazing, evidently they dug up a hole that like one in a thousand find.. they had perfectly set Crystal's measuring in the 12" + set perfect with the hourglass. they had some that spit out 3 different ways measuring 12"+ each way perfectly clear with a beautiful hourglass in it!! I was super jealous Great place to stay when you passing through or on the hunt for your own beautiful native to only Oklahoma hourglass Crystal's!!! Happy hunting
